A CONTRADICTION.

To the Editor.

SIR, —I wish to correct a report of the Police Court news in your paper of September 20th, in which it was stated that I was using " very bad language " on the road. This statement is absolutely incorrect. I think it is well enough known that I am not in the habit of using bad language in a public place. I may state that the proceedings were taken in connection with an assault which happened at the Helensville saleyards, and had nothing to do with anything ■ that happened on ' the Kaukahakapa road. —I am, etc., James Webster. Kaukapakapa, 15-10-17.
