4 - • On Monday evening last a moot bucAml«* .'' . ful euchre party and dance, in aid oflfl^Hi Helensville Roman Catholic Church ifl^^H was held in the Lyrio Theatre. Tnerirl^B was a large and representative gathering from the township arid district. About 100 players sat down to the card tables, and the games were keenly contested throughout. The prizes (two handsome umbrellas) were greatly appreciated by the winners. Mrs Farrell wa ß awarded the ladies first prize, while that for the gentlemen was won by Mr R. Smith. 1; n r , -"""wara. Alter the games , light refreshments were indulged in, and proved very acceptable to all. A. rery enjoyable dance filled in the remainder of the evening, Miss Ri mmer playing delightful music, and Mr R. Bradly making an excellent M.C. , -
The result of the evening's entertainment shows a "substantial profit,' which ■ will be handed over to the Church funds. *
