HELENSVILLE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
COMMITTEE MEETING
THE extraordinary general meeting of the above which was called for Monday last, lapsed through want of a quorum. There were several important matters to discuss for the benefit of the Society in general.
An executive committee meeting was held the same afternoon when there were about fifteen members present.
It was agreed to accept the offer of the North Auckland Farmers' Co-operative to take over the liability of portion of the Association's grounds, recently purchased by Mr Jas. McLeod. • Mr Jas. McLeod has kindly donated ; "Champion" benzine lights for-use in the Agricultural Hall. The offer was accepted with thanks.
The tender of Mr Jas. McLeod for concreting the basement of the Hall, for the sum of £50, was accepted.
It was agreed to • have a chimney built at the east side of the Hall, the cost not to exceed £36. Mr Ellett reported that the work of draining the grounds was being carried out satisfactorily. Mr C. West was unanimously elected a member of the Association. - Mr J. H. Kelly kindly donated £2 2s as a special prize for the best boy rider (over hurdles), between 14 and 21 years. This was all the business.
