HELENSVILLE SCHOOL.

COMMITTEE MEETING,

A meeting of the above was held on Tuesday, 14th inst., when there were present: Messrs L. L. Bailey, W. Bradly, F. Eames, C. Thomson, R. Smith, and H. L. Thompson. In the absence of Mr Field (fche Chairman), Mr C. Thomson was voted to the chair. MINUTES The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE A large amount of correspondence was dealt with. DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL A letter was read from the Board of Education, stating that the application for the ment of a District at Helensville had been^ifelirled^^ On the motion of Mr C. son seconded by Mr H. Thompson. it was resolved —That, the^ Secretary be instructed to '.obtain 1 from the Education Board the guarantees from parents of pupils qualified to attend the High School, and forward them to Mr A. Harris, M.P., with, details of correspondence re the High^' School, and request him to bring* the matter under the notice of the Minister for Education, as it appears that he (the Minister) had been misinformed as to the number that wpuld attend such a school in Helensville. NEW SWIMMING BATH Mr H. Thompson handed in the sum of £12 18s 7d, subscriptions towards the construction of the new swimming bath. Mr C. Thomson also contributed 10s towards the same. It was resolved that all voluntary contributions received for the above be paid into the Post Office, and that Messrs A. J. Hill and F. R. Eames be appointed trustees of the fund. " IMPROVEMENTS Mr H. Thompson stated that the Town Board had decided to renovate the path between the schools as soon as the necessary material came to hand. FINANCE Several accounts were passed for payment. , ■■■ This was all the business.
