Owing to pressure on our [space the report of the last meeting of the Domain Board is held over till next, issue. ■ Anj extraordinary general meeting of I the Helensville A. and P. Association ! will be held- at the Agricultural Hall on I Monday, August 27th at 1 p.m. Something extraordinary has happened 'in this part of the universe. This week we have actually had three fine days without a drop of rain, and the streets ' and roads are consequently much improved. All those interested in the work of the Helensville Presbyterian Church are reminded that the annual meeting will be held in the Church on Monday next. 20th August, at 7.45 p.m. The Rev. A. A. Murray, Moderator, will occupy the chair, and there will be music and light refreshments.

The Helensville Fire . Brigade was called out at about 8.30 p.m. on Thursday evening last, when there was an outbreak of fire in a small building at the rear of Stewart Bros., Ltd., fish factory. The Brigade was holding a dance at the time, and on hearing the fire-bell the membere lost no time in getting the reel out and the hose to work. The fire was quickly supressed, and very little damage resulted. There is talk out Glorit way of a definite and strong endeavour to get a really first-class road to the rail. A good road from Glorit to/ Auckland, via Helensvillle, would bring Glorit within two and a-half hours of the city by car. This would make a great difference to the Glorit part of the district, and add to the comfort of the settlers. Glorit has some progressive settlers.—Rodney Times.
