THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE WAR.

The Prime Minister is requesting public bodies that on Saturday, August 4, the third anniversary of the declaration of war with Germany, meetings of citizens should be called in order that resolutions may be passed expressing New Zealand's inflexible determination to continue the struggle in the maintenance of the ideal of liberty and justice and the sacred cause of the Allies.

The Chairman of the Helensville Town Board has decided that-the resolution will be announced at both picture theatres on Saturday evening next.

Special services of Intercession in connection with the war will be held in St. Matthew's Church, Helensville, next Sunday, August sth.

The monthly memorial service will be held in the Lyric Theatre on Sunday next at 2.20 p.m., when the Rev. F. R. Jeffries will be the preacher. At this service the resolution as contained in the Premier's letter to local bodies will be put. A collection in aid of the Women's Patriotic Fund will be made.
