WOODHILL MEMORIAL SERVICE.

TO SERGT. S. HOE.

A memorial service to Sergt. Stanley Hoe, who died from wounds received in action at Messines, was held at Woodhill on Sunday last. There was a good muster of the Helensville Platoon of the K.D.R.C. under Lieut. Garry. Lieut. Cutfield of the 3rd Auckland Mounted Rifles, several returned soldiers, and a number of Cadets were also present. Rev. L. J. Hodson conducted the service, and took for his text: " There came a cry from Macedonia, come over and help us." In the course of his address the speaker enumerated the many good qualities of Sergt. Hoe, saying that he was one of those who answered the call, and made the supreme sacrifice, The musical portion of the service was conducted by Mrs Kennedy, whoyalso contributed a solo. A collection was taken up for the purpose of obtaining a roll of honour for Woodhill, and a fair sum was contributed.
