DEFENCE NOTES.

Major Turley returned to Helensville on Saturday last, after conducting a special instruction camp at Narrow Neck.

Sergt.-Majbr Stokes left for Wellington on Monday last to undergo a course of muskety training at Trentham, extending for 14 days.

Out of the 34 reservists who presented themselves for examination at the Medical Board sitting last week in Helensville, 13 passed the medical test.

■ The annual inspection of the Helensville Platoon K.D.R.C. will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, 4th inst. Major Turley will be the inspecting officer. All members must be present in uniform. The arms will be examined.
