Battle In Flanders—Violent British Attack —Gain on Front of 15 miles—Over 3500 Prisoners—New Zealanders reported in Action.

What is described as the greatest battle of the war is raging in Flanders. Following the bombardment which lasted several days Sir Douglas Haig attacked on a front of over 15 miles north of Ypres and as far south as the River Lye. French troops to the north acted in co-operation and protected the British left flank The British have already counted over 3500 prisoners, A feature of the battle was the support given to the infantry by tanks and the rapidity with which the guns were moved up to the new ground.

A war correspondent reports that some New Zealanders took part in the battle.
