POLICE COURT.
Helensville, July 23rd, 1917
[Before Messrs R, Fosbroke and J. Hand, J's.P.J
THEFT AND VAGRANCY. A man named Henry Cooke was charged with the theft of a bag of carrots, and with having insufficient visible means of support. The police prosecuted, and evidence was given by Jas. Dowling, who substantiated the statement made by Constable Hunt. After hearing the evidence the Bench convicted accused on both charges, and sentenced him to three months' hard labour.
