SHOOTING.

On Saturday afternoon a return match was fired off by members of t^he above Rifle Clubs on the Helensville Ranee. The visitors arrived by the Toiler, fjtd after a short rest proceeded to the butts! The morning and early afternoon weather conditions were ideal for shooting, but the light became very dull after 3 p.m., and consequently shooting was not so good. The conditions of the match were : 8 shots (one compulsory sighter, not convertible) at 200, 300, fLd 500 yards. Both teams appeared keen in their work, and considering the condition of the ground and weather the shooting was indeed creditable, Helensville proving victorious by 76 points. After the match the visiting team went to the Hot Springs by motor 'bus, and on their return were entertained at dinner at the Terminus Hotel, when the following toast list was gone through: "The King," by Lieut. Garry; "The Visitors," proposed by Q.M.S. Fosbroke, responded to by President Kennedy; "The Army and Navy," proposed by Lieut. Garry, respomded to by Q.MS. Fosbroke; " The Boys at the Front," proposed by Rifleman Hill, responded to by Sergt.-Major Drinnan; and " The Host and Hostess," by Rifleman Hill, responded to by Mr Bishop. On Sunday morning the visitors left on their return journey thoroughly satisfied with 4heir trip, and the enjoyable time spent with the members of Helensville Rifle Club.
