The northern Advocate says:—"lt will be remembered that Mr: Vernon Reed had to vacate his seat and was disqualified for a year on grounds of alleged political corruption. At that time it was generally understood that Mr Stewart was got in by the Reform Party on the understanding that he was to keep the seat warm for Mr Vernon Reed, so that unless conditions have altered, we may expect to see Mr Reed in Parliament again next June.
