SHORT-WEIGHT BUTTER.
THE Heretaunga Dairy Company, of Hastings, for supplying short-weight butter, was fined 40s and costs, and Eoach's, Ltd., were fined a similar amount for having in their possession no fewer than 13 packages of butter, all short-weighty Mr Gardiner, "the inspector, said the system of weighing butter was unsatisfactory, and he thought the different managers of factories should put their heads together and devise some means of automatically weighing butter.
