TO PRIVATES SCOTT AND CRAVEN.

A VERY pleasant evening was ~^ spent in the Star Theatre on *** Thursday evening last, 15th inst., when a farewell social and dance was tendered to Privates Scott and Craven(23rd Reinforcements) '-:> who were home on their final '/-# leave. The Half was comfort- '^ ably filled with well-wishers, and J" the floor in splendid condition for Vl those who indulged in dancing. ' The Town Band were in at ~% tendance, and enlivened the pro-\ *j ceedings greatly their items j being a.treat tv listen to. Messrs \ W. Rennie and M. McGarvey "r contribed a couple of songs each. Light refreshments were supplied * * by the ladies, and needless to say all voted the repast as beim^- i excellent, and the ladies are to 1 be congratulated on their gener- 7* osity in doing their " little bit " during these war times.
