MEMORIAL SERVICE.
I IN Sunday afternoon last, the surth monthly memorial service pas held in the Star Theatre, tfien there was a good attendnce of the general public, rilitary, and local bodies. Mr IH. White, junr., presided at the | organ, and there was also a strong choir present to assist him. The Rev. A. A. Murray, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Auckland, conducted the service, and in his opening remarks said he hoped that services of this kind would not fizzle out in the future, as they had every reason to make the most of our God. The more men they had in the fighting line to subdue the enemy the sooner would the war come to a close. The speaker contend" ed that the way in which the people of our generation were living was the cause of the war, attributing it to nothing else but sin. There was a vital connection between the Alraignty and the way in which we live. The preacher deliver a very able and powerful address, taking as his subject: "Dying like a fool." The collection went to the Sick and Wounded Fund. - The next memorial service will be held in Stewart's Theatre on Sunday, 17th December, and will be conducted by the Rev. Mr Blamires.
