DEATH OF A MAKRAU SOLDIER.

Q^R. Makarau correspondent furnishes the following particulars of the death of Private T. Manuel, who died at Trentham on 9th inst. He was the, ipf\ of Mr and Mrs T. Manual, w^s born at Makarai\ y.ea,rs'ago, and spent most of his life there. Deceased was married but a few months- ago, and much sympathy is felt for the young wife, a,s, -wjejl as the parents, siste^ a^ two brothers, one qf whom, (Brivata H. Manuel) came home on sick leave after the measles at Trentham, and was in. the Auckland Hospital when }\& l\e,a.r>q. of his brother's death., when he insisted on going home, where he now is, and far from well. The Red Gross entertainment, which was to have been held on Friday next, is postponed until Friday, December 15th, out of respect for the. Manuel family.
