BOWLING NOTES.
AWAROA BOWLING CLUB. VERY little bowling has been indulged in during the last week, owing to the bad state of the weather. The return match between the Town Board and the Club took place on Saturday afternoon, several members from both sides being absent. Following are the scores : — Town Board —No. 1 team: Lambert, Cormack, Aitkenhead (skip), 15. No. 2 team : Hafford, Stringer, Graham (skip), 8. Total 23. Awaroa Club—No. 1 team: Walters, Cullens, Murray (skip), 9. No, 2 team : Constable, Ellett Smith (skip), 28. Total, 37. Majority for Club, 14. In spite of the drizzling rain which continued the whole afternoon, enjoyable games were played. Two matches were played for the " star." Garry, the holder, met Hammond, who won— Hammond 34, Garry 17. Hammond 34 v. Aitkenhead 9. The " roosters •' will be played for this Thursday afternoon.
