DOMAIN BOARD.
THURSDAY, OCT. 12th, 1916
At this meeting were present: Messrs J. F. Lambert (chairman), H. Aitkenhead, A. Becroft, E. T. Field, H. Graham, J. Stewart, and H. Thompson. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Mr Aitkenhead proposed, and Mr Stewart seconded, that the Domain Special Committee arrange for lease of part of Hot Springs ground for grazing for a term not exceeding five years, same to be disposed of by auction. —Carried. Mr Stewart proposed, seconded by Mr Aitkenhead, that chips and shells be procured, for repairing the drive ; cost not to exceed £6. —Carried. On the motion of Mr Stewart, seconded by Mr Aitkenhead, it was decided that application be made to the Government for a grant of £400, to be expended as follows: Gas installation £100, painting £150, concrete floor £75, wash-house £25, horsepower mower and other appliances £50. Mr Stewart proposed, and MiGraham seconded; that the shed at back of caretaker's house be cut in two, half to be removed and erected at back of private baths for use_as a wash-house. The motion was carried, Messrs Lambert, Becroft and Field voting against. An amendment moved by MiLambert and seconded by MiField, that the matter be left in abeyance for the present, was lost, only the proposer and seconder voting in favour. A further amendment proposed by Mr Field, that a portable copper be procured in lieu of cutting the shed in two, lapsed for want of a seconder. The debit balance at the bank stands at £278 9s 3d. Accounts amounting to £8 16s 9d were passed for payment.
