The North Auckland Farmers' Co-op, Limited., report: —

—Record Sale at Helensville —

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with the North Auckland Farmers' Co.-op., Ltd., report having held their usual monthly stock sale at Helensville on Tuesday, October 10, as under : —

There was a very large attendance of buyers from Waikato, Auckland and surrounding districts. The yarding was a record one, and nearly 700 head of cattle were sold under the hammer at very satisfactory prices. The majority of the 250 grown bullocks came straight from the growers and were a credit to the district for breeding and condition. The best averages were made by the following growers : Mr J. A. Wilson 44 3 to 4 year old bullocks £15 6s per head ; Mr James McLeod, average £14 9s and up to £14 18s for 3 to 4 year old bullocks and 2^ to 3 year old steers made £8 19s. Mr Wm. Scholium's draft of 70 made up to £13 4s for 3 year old bullocks, and 70 steers from a client made up to £13 13. Shorthorn bull made up to 17 guineas, Holstein bulls to £14. Three year old springing heifers made up to £12, springing cows up to £12 15s, 18 months old steers £7 10s to £8 2s, store cows up to £8 15s. Shorn wether hoggets 21s 6d, aged cull ewes and lambs made 27s 6d. Store pigs £1 each.
