ACCIDENT.

Whilst working a chaff-cutter on Tuesday last, Mr Burfoot met with a painful accident by getting his hand caught In the knives, two of his fingers being badly cut, and one was almost severed. He went by train to Helensville for medical treatment, but as the doctor was away, he had to go on to Auckland, where a number of stitches were put in. It is not yet known whether he will lose his finger.

HORSE SALE. On Thursday last the North Auckland Farmers' Co.-op., Ltd.^£ held their first horse sale in,; thi^|| district. There were a Jgo6d ~: number of horses offered; and most of them" changed hands, but prices were not very high. .
