WAINUI [BY A CORRESPONDENT] MEMORIAL SERVICE A memorial service for the late Private Herbert "James King, of Wainui. was held in the Wainui Public Hall last Sunday at 2.30 p.m. Although it rained, there was a good attendance of quite a hundred or more. The platform was nicely arranged by the ladies, and the national iiag, flower.s, etc., helped to make 'the service all the more impressive. ■ Mi1 Josoph King, father of the deceased soldier, was present, alsn Mr John Hawks, a returned sold and uncle. Mrs King was not able to be there. Mrs H. Bellini sang " Abide with Me," and. Mrs T. B. Lamont presided at the organ. About thirty riflemen and cadets were present in uniform from Kaukapakapa, and military officers from Helensville. The " Last Post " was sounded, and the National Anthem sung. The Rev, J. A. Lamond preached
