Rounmanian Advance—Three Towns Captured—Bulgaria Declares War Turmoil in Greece.
A funeral advance ha> h<-en made by the Roumanians upon Trawlyvama. The Auati-iaiia have bssn driven back, and the towns of Brasso (Kronstadt), Petroseny, and Kesdi Vasarhelp have been occupied by the Roumanians. Bulgaria and Turkey have declarpd war against Roumania. The intervention of Roumania has had a profound effect on the situation iv Greece. The Servians are successfully opposing the Bulgarian attempt to roll up the allies' left wing.
SATURDAY
Russians in the Balkans—Bulgarian Retirement — Falling back on Monastir—Roumanian Advance on Hungary.
It is officially announced from Bucharest that Russians are passing through Roumanian territory. The Russian Black Sea Fleet is assisting in the defence of the Roumanian ports.
The Bulgarians are reported to be falling back on Monastir under the pressure of the Servian attack.
Keports from Borne describe a state approaching panic in Hungary. The resistance to the Eomanians has been shattered by overwhelming numbers, and the people are clamouring for a concentration of troops to defend the country.
The attitude of Bulgaria is causing alarm in Germany and Austria. No reply has been given to the Austrian request that she should declare war on Roumania. Another report states that Bulgaria has asked for the help of 200,000 Turkish troops as a condition of declaring war.
MONDAY, Revolutionary Outbreaks — Allied Fleet at Piraeus—German steamers Seized — Heavy Fighting on Somme — Zeppelin Destroyed in London. The Servians are Successfully pressing on the Bulgarian army, which is now in rapid retreat towards Monastir. It is believed that the retreat may soqn be turned into a rout. Violent counterattacks have been made by the Germans on the Somme front. Very heavy attacKs were,, made on the British between Guinehy and High Wo'ud on Thursday.
There has been great aerial activity on the western front. Official reports state that 15 German machines have been brought down. The British have lost five.
The rapid advance of the Roumanians into Transylvania continues. The Austrians have evacuated Hermannstadt, and other towns far inland from the frontier.
Seveial airships took part in a raid on the eastern counties of England on Saturday night. Many bombs were dropped in widelyseparated localities. The raiders were beaten off, one being brought down in flames in a London dtstrict.
A German submarine has been sunk in the Baltic.
Twenty-three allied airships arrived off Piraeus, the port of Athens, at noon on Friday.' They were accompanied by ? transports. Landing parties seized the wireless station and feur German liners.
The situation in Athens is described as one of indescribable chaos.
• The Greek garrison in Salonika was attacked on Wednesday by a trooj* of Macedonian revolutionaries. There ■ was some fighting across the parade ground, but the garrison held out till the morningl, when French troops arrived and terminated hostilities.
TUESDAY Somme Successes—French Reach Combles— Guillemont in British Hands — Allied Demands on Greece.
A combined attacx bj' the British and French north of the Somme swept the enemy back on a front of nearly four n.iles between Guiuchy and Clery. The French captured every fixed objective, occupying the villages of Le Forest and Clery, and all the German positions on the borders of ComblGs. The French took 2000 unwounded Drisonero.
The British attack was eqiially successful, the whole of Gnillemont and part of Guinchy being captured
There has b«en violent fighting east of the Meuse. on the Verdun front.
A joint Note from Britain and France has been presented to the Cheek Government demanding- the control of the post and telegraphs, *.nd the expulsion of enemy ayents and their Greek accomniices.

The French offensive has been extended south of the Somme to the BarleuxDenseourt front. Important progress has been made in this region. The allied offensive north of the Somme is being continued. The Australians took * part in Sunday's attack. They defeated the .First Prussian Guards, and captured Mouquet Farm, south-east of Thiepval. The terms of the allied Note have been accepted by the Greek Government.
THURSDAY
Gains on the Somme—Russian Cavalry in Roumania.
Tne British and French attacic in the Somme region on Sunday and Monday was made on an actual front of 2b& miles, Although it had no elemeut of surprise, every objective was gained.
Tne French have maintained all the positions gained by them since Sunday, and are pressing forward both north and south of the Somme They took 6650 prisoners in the first three days' fighting.
