HELENSVILLE BRANCH
On the invitation of the above, Mrs Gunson, (Mayoress of Auckland) and Miss Spedding addressed a well-attended meeting in the Star Theatre, on Tuesday, May 30th. The branch has already a large number of members, and they have decided to make 25 hussiffs every month, also a number have consented to knit socks and other woollen garments. Many have promised to give 2/6 monthly to the Dominion Gift Fund, which sends one parcel to each soldier at the front once a month. The collecting committee! consisting of Mesdames Oxley, lEllett, Bailey, and Wilson, canvassed the town and collected £15. The following officers have been appointed: President, Mrs Oxley ; vice-presidents, Mesdames Field, and McGarvey ; treasurer, Mrs J. A. Wilson ; secretaries, Mesdames C. Sandin and J, F. Lambert, junr.
It has been decided to hold various kinds of'entertainments to procure funds for getting wool, hussiffs, etc.
