A severe shock of earthquake occurred in Helensviile last night at about 11 p.m.

The Aeroplane Fund has benefitted to the extent of £2, derived from the sale of a goat at the Farmers' Co-operative sale on Tuesday last. The animal was presented by Mr W. Millward.

A very old and respected resident of Woodhill, Mrs Latimer, passed away in Auckland on Thursday last, at the age of 83. , The funeral took place on Saturday at the Helensville cemetery, and was largely attended.

The large audience of about 600, attending Stewart's Picture Theatre, on Sunday afternoon last, reminded one of Rev, Mr Lamond's idea of "One Great Church," as all sects of religion were represented thereat.

The Helensville Brass Band Concert is fixed for Thursday, June 29, at Stewart's Hall. Admission is Is 6d front seats, Is back seats, and children half-price; seats may be reserved at Walters' for 6d extra. A dance will follow.

Elsewhere will be found the seasonable change advertisement from the noted Al Seed Stores of Messrs O'Leary Bros, and Downs, Cook Street, Aucklaed; their new catalogue is also to hand, and may be obtained for the asking by one and all.

A son of Mrs A. E. Monk of Helensville, Sergt. E. Grey, who was wounded at the front, returned home for a few days last week, previous to. undergoing massage treatment at Rotorua. He was received at the railway station by the Chairman and members of the Town Board and the Town Clerk, who extended him a hearty welcome.
