PATRIOTIC PICTURES.
THE second night of Pictures for the North Auckland Aeroplane fund was held in Stewart's Theatre, on Tuesday night last. The attendance was good, the sum of £4 10s being taken at the door, besides a number of tickets that were sold outside. The only expenses incurred were film hire and pianist 30s, Mr Stewart having given the use of the theatre free of rent. Although all the cash and unsold tickets have not been returned to the Secretary, it is gratifying to know the sum of £12 4s is in hand from the two Picture Shows, The committee wish to thank all those who helped to make the affair a success, and special thanks are due to Messrs Becroft and Stewart for free hall rent, which is equivalent to a donation of at least |£2 2s each; and the operators, Messrs Becroft and J, Lambert, "junr., for giving their services free, an equivalent of. 10s' donation each.
The following are the receipts for the first night, Star Theatre :—
Takings at the door, £4 7s 6d; tickets sold by Mr Cullens 7s, Mr Nield £1, Mr Walters ss, Mrs Jas. McLeod ss, Mr McEwin Is, Mrs Eddleston 7s, Helensville school £2 ss, Mrs Goad 3s. Total £9 6d; expenditure £1 10s; balance £7 10s 6d.
For Stewart's Theatre :—
Receipts at door, £4 10s; Mr Walters, tickets sold, 3s 6d; Helensville school' (not all in) ss; Mr Cullens 2s; Mrs Nield' £1; Mrs Goad 3s. Total £6 3s 6d ; expenditure £1 10s; balance £4 13s 6d; total £12 4s. Tickets to be returned, or cash 45.
