HELENSVILLE v. PARKHURST

AND TE PUA.

The first match of the season was played last Saturday afternoon, on the Helensville school ground, in fine weather. Although a strong southerly wind was blowing, a good number of the public put in an appearance, and took a great interest in the game. After a most exciting contest, the home team defeated their opponents by 20 points to nil. The following scored for the home team :—

Geldard, Oorlieson, Campbell, Worthington, and Aitkenhead, Mr R. Screaton acted as referee.

The school clubs intend to play fortnightly matches during the season.
