On Saturday evenirig''lfi^i visitors attended the Picture -iShow, it Stewart's Hall, and at }half^' time gaxe a little perform'a'fice on their own, Capt. Finlay§6ri;;thankrr ing-vine- people generally for tHe kindly reception accorded^theni. Then they-gave the Star-Theatre a turn "^ and; repeated? their play," and thanks. Afterwards ■■; they^ were entertained at supper by Mr Daniel Stewart, in Steward's -Hall, where;'a very pleasant evenf -was spent.;■,•*( • .^:-:< f-* >!
: On Sunday morning the Highlanders marched out 'to^tHft Hot Springs., under the command of !Capt. Findlayson, led by Pipe'!1 Johnston. - They returned in iime.for^viJtich.^.... ..,,,,,„,,,.„,...,: In '£tie afternoon" the"%amp 56h Mr Elliott's farm, was thrown open to visitors, of which a good number attended. Afternoon tea was served round by the kilties, whieh-was-uthorQugly,appreciated, by all. Afterwards the men were instructed in mounting guard' and all acquitted themselves in an efficient manner.
On Easter Monday a sham fight was held, between the local forces and the Highlanders, the latter taking the attack, and winning. ' '
The visitors returned to Auckland by the 4 p.m. train-the same afternoon, amidst rousing cheers.
