DEFENCE NOTES.
THE Helensville Platoon Kaipara Defence Rifle Club will parade for musketry on Saturday next, 11th inst., at 2 p.m., at the Orderly Room.
A match was fired at the Helens ville rifle range on Saturday, 4th inst., between the Kaipara Defence Rifle Club and the Henderson detachment of the National Reserve, which resulted in a victory for the latter.
The training camp of the 15th (M.A.) Regiment, now being held at Taumarere, near Kawakawa, will break-up on the 10th inst.
We regret to hear that Riflman McArthur, of Kaipara Defence Rifle Club, now in Egypt, is very ill in hospital at Cairo. His comrades here wish hhn'a speedy recovery and safe return,
Sergt. A. E. Grey, of the 3rd Auckland Mounted Rifles, is in hospital in Exmouth, Devonshire, and from communications received, though badly wounded, is in the best of spirits, and his old friends.look forward to seeing him again shortly.
