MASONIC.
INSTALLATION AT MAUNGATUROTO.
ON Thursday, February 24th, Lodge Marsden, No. 169, N.Z.C., held its annual installation, when Bro. W. J. Litten was duly installed into the chair. M. Wor. Bro. 0. Nicholson, Prov. G.M., acted as Installing Officer, assisted by several Grand Lodge officers. The Presenting Officers were : Wor. Bro. T. H. Wilson, P.M. Lodge Rodney, and Wor. Bro. D. J. McLeod, W.M. Lodge Waipu. The following officers were duly installed: 1.P.M., Wor. Bro. W. Collins : S.W., Bro. J. B. Fletcher ; J.W., Bro. W. J. Dell; Treasurer, Bro. H. McMurdo; Secretary, Wor. Bro. T.J. Stewart; D. of C., Wor. Bro. A. H. Curtis ; Chaplain, Wor. Bro. J. Anderson; Organist, Bro. E. J. Flower; S.D., Bro. J. McClean ; J.D., Bro. G. Taylor; 1.G., Bro. R. P. Boag; Stewards, Bros. W. Hall, H.J. Chandler, G. Allen, and A. Worthington; Tyler, Bro. A. J. Leslie. The working tools were presented respectively by W. Bro. J. R. Carter, W.M. Lodge Rodney, W. Bro. Pender, P.M. Lodge Wairoa, and W/Bro. G. Wright, W.M. Lodge Franklin. . The address to the W.M. was given by R. W. Bro. G. H. Powley, P.D.G.M., wb/lst R.W Bro. J. Catchpole, P.S.G.W., addressed the Wardens.
After the Lodge _was closed, an adjournment was made to the Public Hall, where a first-class banquet was supplied, the caterer being Bro. G. H. Allen, and about sixty brethren sat down to the tables. After everyone had partaken of the good things provided, the following toast list was. honoured .—" The King," by the W.M.; " Grand Lodge of N.Z," by W. Bro. Curtis, responded to by M.W. Bro, Nicholson, Prov. G.M ; "Newly Installed Master," by M.W. Bro. Nicholson, responded to by the W.M. elect; " The Visitors," by W Bro. Stewart; "Army and Navy," by W. Bro W. Ccllins ; " 1.P.M.," by W.Bro. W.' Leslie ; "The Ladies," by W. Bro. Anderson, responded to by Bro. A. Ross ; and the usual Tyler's toast. — "Auld Lang Syne.
