KAISER BILL'S CARBUNCLE

The world's ' bete noire' has caused a lot of commotioruof late, in stupid, misleading cables and lying statements, The first position was so serious, the Kaiser ha d to have his throat cut, o something like that. He was in awful agony ; came next, and had a cancer in the windpipe, and the doctors contemplated putting a funnel down so that he could breathe. Next, his sister of Greece was early summoned to the Kaiser's bedside, as' he might pop off at any moment ; he couldn't speak. Critically ill! The cables next reported, and the following day the Kaiser was reviewing his troops. Then comes the news that it was only a boil of the common "king" variety he had, which was probably "drawn" with a bread poultice. But there is more to come yet, and goodness knows what the end will be.
