Losses —Xllied Line Readjusted— Open Hostility of Greece
The British have been heavily Engaged against-the Bulgarians T:"br three days in the neighbourhood of Doiran, in the south-east borner of Servia. Many attacks were repulsed,' and the British . retired to new -^positions. The Bulgarian attack pu the British has now ended. British loss is unofficially Jgiven at under 800. The enemy's r'losses were enormous.
. The French left wing, flung out to a great length, in an effort to effect a junction with, the Servians, has been successfully withdiawn to better winter quarters and has established a closer junction with the British on carefully-chosen positions. The withdrawal occupied 10 days and only the slightest losses were incurred.
An uncensored'despatch which has reached London states that there was an acute crisis at Salonika 'last month owing to Greek military activity. Veiled hostility gave way to threatening action, and the Greek artillery was trained on the allied camps. The position was so critical on November 21 that the allied fleet cleared > for action. Nothing happened and negotiations were resumed by Greece.
The Bulgarians claim to have occupied Ochrida, west of Monastir, and near the Albanian border. The British and French have commenced torevictual and re-equip the Servians by way of Albanian ports.
