General Mackensen has arrived at Constantinople, and is seeking to reconcile Talaat Bey, Turkish Minister for *the Interior, and Eriver Pasha, Minister for War. The cause of the quarrel is apparently the opposition of Talaat Bey to the entry of the Germans. . Bulgarian attacks on the allied line in Servia have been repulsed by the French at Demir Kapu, a gorge on the Vardar River, and by the British near Struranitza. Later the allies counter-attacked and 7 gained ground, inflicting considerable losses on the enemy. \ French and Greek military commissions are conferring on the allies' demands. Responsible circles in Athens are ; confident that a satisfactory understanding will be reached.
The German plans for the spring are said .to include .an advance through Mesopotamia i,;owards India by an army of •400,000 Turks and 100,000 Germans.
