THE DREADFUL WAR AND THE CHURCH.
TO THE EDITOK,
Slß,—With reference to the statement 'in last .week's ECHO that " Freethinkers and others by the million - are now clamouring that if God is so all-wise, generous, and forgiving, hoV is it that He allows the massacre of thousands of Christian Armenians to take place at the hands of infidels ?" etc., etc.
Allow me to remind your readers that the author of the Bible guarantees to furnish needful explanation concerning all movements in heaven and earth, on the simple condition that, while we Study His Word, we be honest enquirers after Truth: .
" Come and let us reason together, saith the Lord" —Isiah 1, 8.
" And ye shall seek Me and find Me when ye shall search for -Me with all your heart"—Jer. 29,13.
" No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly"—Psalm 84, 11.
"Doth not wisdom cry, and understanding put forth her voice ? Blessed is the man that hearest Me, watching daily at My gates"—Proverbs 8, l; 34.—
I am, etc.,
