Defence of Servia — Italy may Participate—Allied Troops Moving North — Bulgarians Checked at Bordor — New British Attack in Prance—Zeppelin Raid, on London
The first detachment of the allied • troops have ; reached Macedonia. The French Premier announces that Italy will probably participate in the Balkans campaign. Bulgaria has officially declared war on Servia.
The Servians admit the occupation by the enemy of Semendria, 25 miles south-east of Belgrade. The enemy paid very heavily for this conquest.
The British have renewed their attacks on the German lines, using at some points a cloud of smoke and gas. They gained 1000 yards of trench south and west of Hullnch, but were unable to hold them.
Monitors and land artillery have bombarded Turkish position on Gallipoli. A portion of the Turkish front was destroyed, and the occupants decimated. The ports and quays at Maidos suffered severely.
It is reported that the AustroGerman front in Galicia has been pierced, and one army is in danger of being out-flanked and another isolated.
'The casualties resulting from the Zeppelin raid over England are 15 soldiers and 41 civilians killed, and 13 soldiers and 101 civilians injured.
