Servia's Resistance—Heroic defence of Belgrade — Vigorous Russian Offensive — Success at Several Points — Further Advance in France

The Seryians admit that Belgrade has been captured by the Austro-German forces. The German reports speak of violent street fighting, and French: accounts state that the garrison offered a heroic resistance. The Austrians crossed the Save, but the German attempt to cross the Danube was frustrated with heavy losses to the enemy.

The Greek mobilisation is complete. It is expected that Bulgaria will attack Servia within a few days. The Servians are guarding their railway communications with Greece.

What appears to be a determined and successful Russian offensive is; reported from Buk°vina, Galicia and Volhynia. Along the River Stvr, in Volhynia the Russians advanced several miles, and penetrated the enemy's positions. They also destroyed the Austrians'. first line of trenches on the Besarabian front: Fierce and indecisive fighting is taking place in the Dvinsk region.

The French have made further progress near Tahure, the village in the Champagne they recently captured. Their airmen are harassing the Germans behind their lines on this front. A feature of recent attacks has been the intensity of the artillery fire.
