Russians Attacking — Success at Many Points—Heroic Fighting by Cossacks — Greek Army Mobilising
The Russians have successfully attacked the enemy at points in a line extending from Vileika, 68 miles south-east of Vilna, to well into" Galicia. South of Pripet they recaptured villages, and at 'Luck, in Volhynia, they stormed several positions, and recaptured the town, taking an additional 4000 prisoners.
There has not been much activity on G-allipoli during the past week. Allied warships bombarded the Asiatic coast. The Turkish artillery is sometimes silent for days, suggesting a lack of ammunition. A wireless message issued from Berlin affirms that the allies have assembled 110,000 new troops at Mudros.
The King of Greece has issued a decree of mobilisation as a measure of prudence in view of the Bulgarian mobilisation, Twenty classes are being called to the colours, which, with the men now under arms, will give 300,000.
'"" The French newspaper Le Temps estimates the total Austrian, German, and Turkish losses at six and a-half millions, of which four million are permanently out of action.
