DEFENCE NOTES

C. Company 15th (N.A) Regiment went into camp some 160 strong on Thursday, 16th inst. In spite of the weather being very bad, some useful work was put in. On Monday last the men fired at the 25yds range and practices of the musketry course laid down took place. On Tuesday the Company proceeded to Kaukapakapa in order to avail themselves of the long range, Helensville range not being completed. The shooting altogether was very satisfactory. Captain Turley is in command of the camp, Lieut. Cox being musketry instructor, with Lieut. Stephens and Sergt.-Majors McKee, Sims, Stokes, and Barlthop as drill instructors. . * * * The Helensville Platoon of the Kaipara Rifle Club parade as usual on Thursday evening at 7-30 p.m. * * ■* Also, parade Saturday, uniform, at 2.30 p.m. at Defence Office. Members having rifles must return same to the Q.M.S.
