HELENSVILLE GOLF CLUB AT DARGAVILLE The first match of the Helensville Club was played against Dargaville at Dargaville on Saturday last. Owing to the bad weather in the afternoon someof the matches had to be abandoned. Of the ladies " foursomes," two matches were.won and two lost —the remaining one being halved. The gentlemen won six matches, lost two, and halyed one. The visiting team were entertained at the Pictures by the Dargaville Club and taken to supper afterwards. Although the weather could not have been much worse, all thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and are looking forwardjto a visit from Dargaville Club, when it is to be hopee better weather conditions will prevail. Following are the results of the matches, Helensville players being mentisned first: ) —Ladies' Foursomes— Mesdames Peacock and Sewell v. Mrs Dargaville and Miss Jervis, all square. _ Mesdames Page and Elliott beat Mrs Horton and Miss Dargaville, 3 up. Mrs Eames and Miss Simcock lost to Mrs Michelson and Miss Harding, 2 down. Mrs Rose and Miss Wilson lost to Mrs Page and Miss Hosking, 5 down. J Misses McLaughlin and Tuthill beat Mrs Hayes and Miss Coleman, 2 up. —Gent's Singles— H. Peacock beat Tate, 4 up and 2. E. Page beat Roper, 6 up and 5. Murphy beat Reid, 2 up and 1. j Rose v. Dargaville, all square. Mascall v. Pearson, won be default. Eames lost to Wyatt, 5 down and 3. J. A. Wilson beat Boyes, 4 up and 2. R. Wilson lost to Darbyshire, 2 d6wn. Osmond beat J. Page, 1 up. FIXTURES The following fixtures are announced: —Saturday, 21st August— j First year Lady Members Handicap | Competition for. trophy presented by [Mr Ellis of New Lynn. Medal play ; | course of 15 holes (first 14 holes and last hole) ; players choose partners. —Saturday, 28th AugustGents' Handicap Competition for " Silver Button " presented by Mr Page Draw for partners.
