SIX MEMBERS FROM EACH PARTY
The official announcement of the <9§l personnel of the National Cabinet, to- "jfll get her with the allocation of portfolios -<§| and Departments to be controlled by - ./'li each Minister, was made by the Prime - Minister on Friday evening last, im-p ' /Jfj mediately after the swearing-in ceremonyx| ~m before the Governor, at Government '/Jl House. - ,J| A new development, which resulted in,..,.|L||| the increase in the number of the Cabinet '-4piw| Ministers from ten to twelve by the J^j appointment of two honorary Ministers,4fet^occurred during the day. The two*3^ '$ additional appointments are those of -'j Sir Francis Bell and Dr McNab. The f{ two honorary Ministers are Sir Francis C\ Bell, M.L.C., and Mr Hanan (Inveircari M gill). The former will continue to h6ld "-M his present position of Leader of the ' 'Sj Legislative Council, without portfolio, '% whilst Mr Hanan becomes Minister for r Education and Immigration. Pomare Ij continues to hold his position of repre- '% sentative of the native race on the \ 3 Executive, without full Cabinet rank. %i This completes a total Ministry of *% thirteen, made up as follows:— • ' *$ The Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey—Prime ;/J Minister, with the portfolios of Lands and Labour. He also retains control of '-.*$ several less important Departments, in- | eluding Industries and Commence and / ~v Electoral Business. • % Sir Joseph Ward, Bart. —Minister for '$ Finance and Postmaster-General. The Hon. G. W. Russell—Minister for Internal Affairs, Hospitals and Public Health, and Minister in Charge "of Government Printing Offices.
The Hon. W. H. Herries.—Minister for Railways and Native Affairs.
The Hon. A. M. Myers—Minister for Customs, with new portfolio of Minister for Munitions and Supplies.
The Hon. A. L. Herdman— AttorneyGeneral, Minister in .Charge of Prisons Police, and Stamp Duties.
The Hon. W.D. S. MacDonald— Minister for Mines and Agriculture.
The Hon. W. Fraser—Minister for Public Works.
The Hon. J. A. Hanan—Minster for Education and Minister in Charge of Immigration.
The Hon. Sir Francis Dillon BellLeader of the Legislative Council.
The Hon. Dr. Pomare—Minister representing the Native Race in Executive and Minister in Charge of the Cook Islands.
The Prime Minister stated that Sir Francis Bell and Mr Hannan were honorary Ministers. :
