A SUGGESTION

TO THE EDITOIt

SIR, —In a recent issue of the ECHO I noticed that Mrs Little / had applied to the Helensville Domain Board for a road opposite or near Parakai House, leading thence to the Springs, and for which the Board declined to commit themselves, and I think very rightly so, too. Now, sir, I would suggest to Mrs LitjJe that she instead, apply to Awl member of the County (M^J. McLeod) to get a footpath constructed leading as far as Mr Eddlestone's, and then to have a slightly-raised crossing over the road to the shell path in the Domain. I also think, seeing the extra rates collected from the properties in the vicinity, that * the path should commence opposite the Springs Road and continue on as far as Mrs Goad's, where another crossing should be made, the path to be properly gravelled. " Forward " should be our motto if we wish to keep abrest of the times. Those ' people who have enhanced: so much the value of the property, giving it a higher rating value, are well entitled to special consideration. Hoping to see this work soon accomplished,—l am, etc.,

R. ISTICHOLLS. Parakai, July 26th., 1915. .
