EUCHRE PARTY AND SOCIAL

On Monday evening the Church of England Ladles' Guild held the second of their series of Progressive Euchre Parties and Socials in the Star Theatre. Play began at about 8.15 p.m., and ten games were played, the winners being Mrs Carl Sandin for the ladies, with nine wins; and Mr George McMapdonald for the gentlemen, also with nine wins. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs Rowles and Mr Horton. At 10 o'clock a dainty supper was handed round. Dancing was then indulged in, excellent music being provided by Miss Channon, assisted by Mrs Rowles and Mrs Wilson. About ninety people were present and all appeared to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
