BOWLING

AWAROA BOvVLING CLUB

THE annual general meeting of the above Club was held at the Bank of New Zealand on Monday, 28th ult. There were about twenty members present. Minutes of previous annual meeting were read and confirmed. Balance sheet was read and adopted, subject to it being audited. The election of officers resulted as follows:— Patron—Daniel Stewart, Esq. President—A. J. Hill, Esq. Vice-President, ex-officio —Mr A. Bishop.

Vice-Presidents—Messrs E. T. Field, Gordon Coates, F. Mackenzie, Cullens, Hammond, Cucksey, T. McEwin, Jas. Hand, Jno. Hand, Wilson, Walters, Jas. Stewart. C. Niccol, Screaton, Murray, Sellars, Drs. Phippen and Meinhold.

Committee—Messrs Graham, Garry, Hammond, Smith, Dwerryhouse, Constable, Murphy, Cullens, Walters, Coutts, Field, and Ellett.

Hon. Secretary and Treasurer—Mr G. Murphy.

Green Superintendent—Mr Harris; assistant, Mr Coutts.

Auditor—Mr Stringer

It was decided to engage a caretaker to look after the greens during the playing- season., and that applications be invited for the position.

Since the close of the season the green has been levelled and top-dressed. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Edgecumbe and thank him for his gratuitous services in this connection.

Votes of thanks for services rendered were accorded to Messrs D. Stewart, A. Harris and Coutts, also to Mr F. Mackenzie, editor of the Echo.
