HOSPITAL SHIP AND MORE MONEY.
NURSES AND CHARITY.
It is quite clear that as the war progresses more money for charitable purposes must be in demand, and therefore those who are willing and liberal enough to be continually dipping their hands into the family purse, must husband their resources and live more economically for the sake, of Bmpire. This mayjbe hard on father and mother, but Empire is fighting for a big cause.. The latest effort on behalf of the war is by His Excellency the Governor, who is now making an appeal to the people for a Hospital Ship and more nurses. A lengthy circular from the Governor reaches us, but it is too lengthy for publication, suffice to say that Auckland is again to the front, and already some thousands of pounds (saythree), have been "collected. About £25)000 is required for
the Hospital Ship that is to attend our brave boys tbat are wounded, and some even dicing, from all parts of the" seats of war, while contributions of bed and bedding are heavily mustering from merchants, drapers, etc. God speed the cause.
