STOCK SALES
The Auckland Farmers' Union, Limited, report:— At Kamo, on the 6th inst., we had a full yarding of cattle, 1132 being penned. Prices all round were easier than a month ago, and although a number of cattle were disposed of after the sale, there was not the demand that was generally anticipated. We quote:
Beef : Steers £9 to £13 : cows, £5 5s to £9. Grown steers, £8 to £9 12s 6d; 3-year steers, £7 to £8; 2-year steers, £4 15s to £6 ss; 12 to 18-months steers, £3 to £4; strong steer calves, £1 15 to £5s ; good framed empty cows in fair condition, £4 to £4 12s 6d ; others, £210s to £3 10s ; 2 to 3-year heifers, £2 10s.to £3 15s ;12 to 18-months heifers, £1 10s to £2 5s ; good heifer calves, £1 2s 6d to £1 10s. Dairy cows, young and close to profit, £6 to £8 15s ; others, £4 to £5 10s. Bulls : £4 to £6 10s. Sheep: Shorn hoggets, mixed sexes, 9s 6d.
