DRUNK WITH CONCEIT

AND HATE

LANGUAGE almost fails the German editor as he contemplates the cruelty of the British mind:

" The disgust in which we are steeped reaches the collar of our coat, but we we will put up with the vile machinations of the double-headed brood of British vipers for a little longer, and then we will bring the German heel down upon their venomous heads. But the heavens are just and work with fit instruments. Great Britain is about to be ' smitten with the penalties for which its wickedness clamours. "Wnen John Bull, the howling jackall, shall have received the full measure of the punishment which the German Micheal destines for him, he will be only too thankful to slink back into the innermost fastnesses of his island lair, a wild' beast with drawn claws. He will be incapable henceforth of prowling around under ' cover of hypocritical protestations to steal from other people the property to seize which in open fight he has neither the pluck nor the ability." « * * *

When the average German editor is not occupied with sprinkling vitrol on the head of Great Britain, he busies himself with anointing the brow of Germany with the oil of praise. The human race as a whole, it seems, is a moral shipwreck, only its German-speaking section deserves to survive—

" All that is noblest and loftiest in the true culture of the soul and mind, and in the development of the human race, has attained its purest expression in the German people. All that still remains to Europe, in these wretched days of decadence, that is noble, inspiring and grandiose, is German. A German defeat would mean the end of worthy human existence, and if the world desires progress the world must become German. The German must dominate the world."

This is but one sample of the / amazing conceit and hallucination of the Germans. Just one more— < '

Germany has been called and chosen to cry "halt" to the .British power of darkness. It is a task which can be carried out only by that State which has reached the required level of development.
