KAUKAPAKAPA

[OWN CORRESPONDENT]

The Kaukapakapa Methodist Church was beautifully decorated last Sunday for the Harvest Thanksgiving Service. The congregations were large, the Church being full both morning and evening. Miss Waddell sang a solo, "The Eefuge of the Soul," at the 11 a.m. service. At the evening service Mrs Bellini sang " Eternal Rest," and the duet, " O Lovely Peace," was rendered by Miss Waddell and Miss Dye, Mr F Dye presided at the organ.

The wet weather of a fortnight ago, though very welcome to farmers, upset the arrangements which had been made for a tennis match between a party of Helensville players and a team picked from the Silverdale and Kaukapakapa Clubs. The match was postponed for a week, and eventuated last Saturday, when a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. A ladies' committee, headed by Mrs R. Drinnan, provided afternoon tea tor players and visitors. Mr F Dye (President of the Club) welcomed the visitors, and expressed the hope that the Clubs would often exchange visits. Mr Hill (Helensville), on behalf of the visitors, congratulated the Kaukapakapa Club on their splendid courts and thanked them for their hospitality. Following are the results of the games (Helensville players being first mentioned) :—
