WONDERFUL ESCAPE FROM INJURY TO LIFE

O N Saturday evening last just as as Mr and Mrs Harris, of the Helensville Hot Springs, were returning home in their buggy from the Pictures at 10.30 p.m., and while crossing-*, the small bridge near Parakai Hall, they were run into by a locally-owned motor travelling in the same direction. No time, it is alleged, was given Mr Harris to get off the bridge or out of the way. His horse was thrown down, with Harris on top, while Mrs Harris, was thrown clean out of the trap some distance into the rgad= way, the vehicle becoming a tota.l wreck. The horse was seriously injured, and Mr and Mrs Harris met with slight injuries—a lucky pair, in one respect.
