PRESENT Messrs E. T. Field (chairman), J. Lambert, J. Wilson, T. Elliott, A. Becroft, G. Sellars, Jas. Stewart, and the clerk (MrH. W. Stringer). MINUTES Minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE Correspondence read and either dealt with or laid upon the table. FIRE BRIGADE SECTION Mr J. C. Rimmer attended and reported to the Board that he had received a substantial offer for his two sections in Garfield Road, and could not accept the ] Board's offer for the section for j the erection of a Fire Brigade station. , It was decided to accept Mr \ Jas. Stewart's offer for his section in Garfield Road, in accordance with last report. NELSON STREET The Roads Committee was authorised to inspect, and estimate cost of completing Nelson Street, and report to next meeting. A. TIMELY NOTICE It was decided to erect a notice board at the gate leading on to Mr John Hand's, to notify the public that the road to the water catchment area is private property, and that trespassers will be prosecuted. RUBBISH A resolution was passed to the effect that the public be permitted to tip inorganic matter, such as tins, crockery, and broken bottles on the reserve at Sullivan's Gully, but that no kitchen or such-like refuse be deposited there. FIRE BRIGADE HOSE The Clerk, in conjunction with the Captain of the Fire Brigade, was authorised to procure 200 ft of hose. FIRE BELLS It was decided to procure two bells for the Fire Brigade, one to be erected at each end of the town. Mr Stewart intimated that he thought he had two bells which he would be pleased to hand over —A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Stewart for his offer. FINANCE Dr. balance at Bank on General Account, £321 5s lOd. Cr. balance Cemetery Account, £2 17s 6d, Library, £13 0s Bd.
