OBITUARY
DEATH OF A VERY OLD SETTLER
The funeral of the late Mr Thomas Rimmer took place at Helensville o n Tuesday afternoon last, a large number of old settlers who knew tne much respected deceased taking part in the cortege. The Revs. Gittos and Lamond and Mr Leach took part in the impressive burial burial service. The deceased, who was a very old x settler of Helensville, arrived here with his family about 38 years ago,"and left some six years ago to reside with his son, Ernest, at Kingsland, at whpse residence he passed peacefully away on Sunday, 14th inst., at the ripe old age of 85. He took a great interest in musical affairs and Church matters, and was a trustee of the Helensville Methodist Church. Besides numerous friends, the deceased leaves behind to mourn their loss three sons and four daughters,, viz., Mrs R. Fenwick, Waiuku ; Mrs Ure, Tasmania • MrE. A. Rimmer and Miss A. Rimmer, Auckland ; and Messrs J. C. and N. W. Rimmer, and Miss M. Rimmer' of Helensville.
