HELENSVILLE A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

ANNUAL SHOW CONTINUED A GREAT SUCCESS FINE WEATHER AND GAY FEATHERS PREVAIL THERE was an attendance of about 600 people at the postponed end of the Show, held on Saturday last, ladies and children being decked out in their summer garb and looking as pleasant as the sunshine itself. A number of business premises were closed during the afternoon for -thfc occasion, and vehicles were flying about in all directions, while a number of visitors came down from Auckland. The blood stock and special •classes were particularly good, and declared by the judge, Mr G. F. Lunnell, to be quite up to any exhibit at other fixtures, and the hacks the finest he had seen in the North. The riding and s"ports drew keen competition and interest, while the strains of music by the Helensville Band considerably enlivened the proceedings. Mr and Mrs Anderson had charge of the refreshment and afternoon tea booths, and there was plenty of fruit to be obtained on the ground. Several games and a side-show attracted a few, and the seats provided half-way round the roped-in ring were must thankfully availed of. And it is satisfactory to note that, although unable to pull up for the losses sustained through the bad weather for the Show —prevailingon Anniversary Day, the Committee have been somewhat fortunate in making up for some of their great loss. The following is a list of prizes awarded continued from last week, and those awarded on Saturday:— SCHOOL WORK Drawing, freehand, plain or tinted, Standard Vl.—Annie Hughes 1, Helen Wilson 2.
